For many kids, school is not about learning; it’s about connecting. They may miss your lessons... but I guarantee you they miss their friends. I’m grateful for teachers everywhere who are working to keep the connections going. The students need it.

Crazy times like these are a testament to the importance of being resilient. It’s good to remind students that their commitment to push through and push on... will be more important to their future than “intelligence” and “talent.” You can share hope.

Districts, remember your teachers aren’t immune to this crisis either. Please show them the same kindness, support, patience, understanding, and love that you are expecting them to show their students and their families.

3 things for teachers to remember: 1) Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It’s not a time for perfection; it’s a time for grace. 2) The students would still love to hear from you. Stay connected if you can. 3) Take care of yourself and your family. They’re still your #1.
