Labour Co-op district councillor for Ringwood North & Ellingham, town cllr for Ringwood North and parish cllr for Ellingham, Harbridge and Ibsley. Own views.
"Mr Dacre, we've got no dirt on Starmer to publish this Sunday"
"Nothing?"
"Speak to Hodges, he's always got something. he hates Starmer"
"No sorry, boss"
(Dacre explodes) "Well make something up about his clothes or something"
Two MPs have been murdered in the past decade and more have been attacked by people wielding weapons.
This is just utterly irresponsible and the worst politics of the gutter. Shame.
Last night Parliament had the opportunity to vote to support a ceasefire and the release of hostages in Gaza.
Sadly, the Labour party is in chaos and is failing to deliver what constituents are demanding.
Is your MP on the list?

Why are people finding it so hard to understand that training more medical professionals in the UK is objectively a good thing?
No one's telling the NHS not to hire from overseas: professionals from overseas are warmly welcome, but we should plan to train enough people here.
Hearing that Richard Parker has formally won the West Midlands mayor election for Labour.
Concession from Andy Street is coming soon.
What a superb victory.
Labour people. Don't allow the Tory circus to lull you into a false sense of security.
We have a long hard slog ahead to get into government.
Are you up for it?
Fascinating the number of "socialists" supporting Galloway on here.
Do you actually have your eyes open. Him voting Tory in 2019. Nick Griffin approval?
It's the "socialism" of fools.
I think we're getting far too close to government for Hilary; she's obviously getting uncomfortable with the thought of actually being able to change the country.
So she's off to find another protest outfit where she can shout slogans from the sidelines in complete comfort.
I have resigned from Labour and thus my role as Momentum Co-Chair.
I can no longer support a Labour Party led by a man who backed war crimes in Gaza, u-turns on climate & abandons children to poverty.
I will now sit as an Independent councillor in Worthing.

OUTSIDE STARMER'S OFFICE
HAPPENING NOW
Antisemitism outside Starmer's office
"The djinn right? They've gone beyond Shaitan you know he's on the list because his wife's a Zionist you know his wife says, you know, Israel and he'll go and support Israel the little shit"
Incredibly disingenuous clickbait headline - Kinnock says Labour will move asylum seekers out of the barges, military bases and hotels as quickly as possible.
It's impossible to do this on day one: there is no magic wand to clear up the Tories' mess.
Whether you agree with their politics or not, the difference in character and integrity of Labour's Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner, compared with the Tories' Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak, could not be clearer tonight.

No. It's the British people that support you, not him.
We won't stop supporting you but this delving into our politics is a serious misjudgement.
I remember that sunny day in May 1997 when the clouds of the 1980s and 1990s suddenly lifted.
And then there was year after year of delivery of all of this...
Compare with the chaos of the last 13 years...
Getting fed up of people on here accusing me of enabling/supporting "genocide".
1) I'm a district councillor in the beautiful New Forest in England. I do bins, planning, housing... not international affairs.
2) Here's the former President of the International Court of Justice.
Today I have been chatting to a couple who previously have voted Tory but voted for me in the local elections.
I am touched by the trust that people have put in me - the first Labour district councillor to be elected by ballot in 50 years here.
I want to live up to that trust.
Not convinced that Hunt has a leg to stand on with his jibe at Angela Rayner.

Hearing that Southampton Tories are putting out leaflets claiming that the city's council tax is going up by 20%.
It's going up by 4.99%
All they've got is lies.
Loving the contorted arguments from some on here defending the latest extensive resignation letter from someone on the hard left of the party I've never heard of before.
If you want to leave, just leave. The party isn't an airport: no need to announce your departure.
What is it with the paraglider badges on the protesters in various cities today?
Are these people actually celebrating carefully orchestrated indiscriminate terrorist attacks on civilians going about their daily lives?
That this is being openly shared by UK-based groups including the "Palestine Solidarity Campaign" is awfully close to the stuff that causes pogroms.
My solidarity is with Jewish people who have to face this kind of crap all the time.
I'm at my youngest son's rugby team
@ERRFC
's fancy dress touch rugby tournament and beer Fest. One team has come dressed as Boris Johnson on a "work meeting" and people are shouting "resign" at them.
The level of desperation from right wing hacks is getting utterly ridiculous.
You backed the wrong horses (Hard Brexit, Johnson) and it blew up in your face. Own the mess you've made and get out of the way so Keir and the team can sort it out.
2019 TORIES: Of course we can prorogue parliament unlawfully if we want what a clever move by Johnson and Rees-Mogg.
2024 TORIES: We're sticklers for the minutiae of parliamentary procedure. The Speaker must resign.
On my timeline tonight are Jewish people expressing dismay and hurt over our party members electing Naomi Wimborne Idrissi to the NEC.
Despite the hard work that has been done, there's plenty more hard work needed to rid the party of the scourge of anti-Jewish racism.
“It’s a recipe for Keir Starmer being the most hated man in Britain by the end of [the next] parliament."

Thank you to the people of Ringwood North and Ellingham for putting your trust in me, to make me the first ever

district councillor for my adopted hometown.
Quite amazed about the number of people on here who think Labour should stand aside in Brighton Pavilion.
I had Lib Dems and a Green against me in May's local elections, each took a couple of hundred votes.
I won my seat anyway. That's democracy. We're different parties.
His wealth was hiding offshore and he's been dragged kicking and screaming into paying up by HMRC.
The Tories: Out of touch and not paying their fair share.

The replies to this post are absolutely awful.
The only redeeming feature is that under Keir Starmer, the Labour Party has been made a very cold place for people who hold these sorts of awful opinions.
Seeing some disgraceful behaviour towards a dedicated Labour councillor from the "kinder, gentler, peace and justice" mob tonight.

I'm afraid that this kind of thinking is still too prevalent in Labour for my liking.
What purity over pragmatism guarantees is more Tory government.
It lets down people who need a Labour government.
Too often it comes from people who are at least comfortably off themselves.
Seeing a lively debate going on in the online Jewish community about the impact of the Gaza protests.
I'm not Jewish but it is clear to me that many Jewish folk find them menacing - there regularly is open antisemitism.
Anyone arguing otherwise has their head in the sand.
Labour’s New Deal for Working People will be the biggest levelling-up of workers’ rights in decades - providing security, treating workers fairly, and paying a decent wage. 🧵1/8
Proud to announce that my eldest son, Dan, has made his A-level grades and will be heading off to Imperial College at the end of September. Well done Dan!

As a local councillor, I have to declare the financial affairs of my spouse as they affect the town of Ringwood.
It's called transparency and accountability.
James "not very" is being highly disingenuous here.
Kemi's a bit younger than me but Major was still in power when she was 16 so I'm baffled about her minimum wage claim.
Major first came to power when I was 17 and I worked in a factory during holidays. There was no minimum wage and I paid no taxes because I was paid so little.
🗣️Kemi Badenoch: I know what it's like flipping burgers at 16, on minimum wage, and then watching my pay slip away to taxes. What I want to do is cut fuel duty but we need to look at why the cost-of-living is rising and the problem is inflation
Is Laura seriously suggesting that MPs in the UK should stop carrying out their duties toward their constituents because of a foreign war over which HMG has negligible control?
Does she think this about all foreign wars? Or just the ones involving Israel?
It is deeply jarring to see MPs here in the UK going about their ‘duties’, pretending it’s business as usual, taking pictures of visits, tweeting about nonsense when there is a genocide unfolding in Gaza. We see the scale of atrocities before our eyes, their response is woeful.
Upper Gornal and Woodsetton (Dudley) election result:

Seeing a famous Mail columnist go head to head with a distinguished tax lawyer is all you need to know about the Mail's partisan agenda.
Dacre obviously wants another hit job on Labour, so the troops have been marched into battle to publicly debase themselves.
Really not impressed by people who advance arguments on here that people calling out racism should keep quiet because they are stoking up community division.
If Sunak has to bring Cameron in, he really is Billy no-mates in the Tories.
350 MPs and yet they don't have any trustworthy and competent people to put in the Great Offices of State, so it looks like they are recycling has-beens.
The wheels have well and truly come off.
OJ is defining Labour by allegiance to a leader who was first elected by the party nearly 30 years ago.
Like so many Marxists he's stuck in yesterday. Time to move on, Owen.
So in the first three weeks in charge, Truss' Tory government have tanked the pound, promised to blow up the national debt and now nearly wrecked our pensions.
What a mess.
I normally wouldn't retweet this lot as I don't want to amplify, but this thread is just rank dishonesty from Momentum.
Reeves called for benefits to go up by inflation, which was 6% at the time of her speech. That's in the article linked to.
Politically hostile entryists.
NARRATOR: James went to the Dragon School, Winchester and then Trinity College Oxford.
He was a Lib Dem, flirted with Cameron's Tories and then entered Labour via Momentum.

Don't blame the public for the lack of trust in politics: blame the political-media class.
They cannot see why they are hated. They fail and fail and fail. They lie and lie and lie.
We need an overhaul of our democratic system, not elites wanging on about the Nolan principles.
