Saturn’s rings have disappeared! (Kind of.) Due to their tilt from the perspective of Earth, the planet's rings have appeared to vanish. But don’t worry – as Saturn continues to rotate, the rings will become visible again. 🪐

Saturn on November 21st. Average seeing on a rare clear spell before more rain arrived. The rings are very close to their minimum presentation angle of the year at 0.3º appearing as a thin bright line. The shadow cast across the centre of the planet is due to the Sun being

It’s amazing that comet #3IAtlas has wandered the Galaxy for billions of years, untouched and unnoticed, until it finally brushed past our Sun. I can’t help wondering where its journey will take it next, and what will have become of Earth by then. 😌

This credulous, gushy @CNN segment by @jaketapper is just...wow. I'm embarrassed for my profession. UFOs are a decades-old sociocultural phenomenon. There is as much evidence for crashed alien #UFOs as there is for Bigfoot and the Bermuda Triangle. https://t.co/bm9VeVcM9Q

@Revkin @TheUfoJoe @ageofdisclosure @jaketapper @MickWest @SETIInstitute UFOs are like Groundhog Day for the media. They repeat the same narrative over & over, with just slight changes. This has been happening for many, many years. As MIT physicist Philip Morrison said in the late 1960s, UFOs are "a social phenomenon of journalism and television.”

This image, taken by @NSF Inouye Solar Telescope's VBI (Hydrogen Balmer line @ 656.3nm), shows part of a plage, which is a manifestation of the magnetic field in the solar atmosphere. The ‘brush stroke structures,’ named fibrils, follow the field’s orientation in the chromosphere
