A thread about COVID-19 and COVID-19 reporting in Canada, as well as about validation of our latest COVID-19 Forecast model. It's partly motivated by the latest infection estimates for Canada. As you can see, estimated daily infections in Canada are currently at or nearing the

And some info on her struggles with Long Covid following a severe infection with pneumonia. I hope these events lead to a shifting awareness and attitudes in the populace. She could influence this, too. We'll see if she does. https://t.co/D8x3aXhPRd

It’s official — Leana Wen has #LongCovid “In July, I wrote about the unsettling experience of being.. very ill & hospitalized. Many readers have kindly written to ask whether I’ve fully recovered.” “I wish I could say yes — The truth is far from that.”

For those mercifully unaware of who Leana Wen is, here's some of the stuff documented where she has caused so much harm, particularly to kids. https://t.co/biYlpMxObc

Leana Wen, WaPo writer and TV commentator who railed against masks and encouraged infection in kids, has Long Covid. A reminder that an ounce of prevention is with a pound of cure... Assuming we find a cure, of course.

This phrase hits hard: "Our response to COVID-19 was often treated as a debating competition by academics who failed to consider the implications if they were wrong."

One of the reasons I have been so irritable and sometimes angry when debating COVID-19 with others is that many of my detractors, in addition to using ad hominems and disparaging my reputation, failed to understand my area of expertise properly and didn't stay on top of emerging

If I had known what I know now, I would have worn a respirator, brought a HEPA, UVC lights, you name it. Hospitals absolutely *do not* know what they’re doing on ID control and privatizing laundry/cleaning services and dismantling healthcare makes it worse. 2/2

Btw, Bonnie taught the others how to do this. BC used to have the worst data collection but everyone else has adopted the bad data stuff BC always did.

"When you're seeing photos of maskless rich people partying? This is what you're not seeing. They've all tested beforehand and screened their guests, using MULTIPLE layers of protection. They are not taking any chances with this virus, because they know it is very, very serious"

Wouldn't it be wild if corporations and the US government were blatantly, openly admitting to using a fancy Covid prevention services company for their big fancy parties? And if they were all listed as clients on said company's site? Wouldn't that be WILD

@happyhexer @PinkedOff @breakfastnick Yeah, I'm looking now and seeing they've definitely found evidence of infections damaging bone marrow. The more I'm reading, the more it seems a marrow reservoir could tie a lot of things together - immune system dysregulation, Long Covid, .... https://t.co/Yte4OP811l

"When are you going to stop wearing a mask?" "Well... never. I'm never going to stop. I'll still wear one if I'm sick or around the vulnerable. And for now, I'm going to continue to wear one in crowded places until they can cure Long Covid or we can prevent it."

The most surprising part of this? That media asked these questions. BC media would never ask something like this. It's refreshing to see some sort of honesty and accountability like this, even if public health took the wrong lesson and chose harm - yet again.

Many - myself included - feared the blue check changes would dilute the value of using Twitter but it has instead completely destroyed it. There is no credibility, and good sources are deliberately demoted in results just because some schmo gave Elon his credit card.

Remember when Twitter was a useful source of information and news? I just searched "France" and Twitter promotes blue check (aka paying trolls) so much that the first 20 top results were racist. ALL OF THEM. Twitter is such trash now. Scattered communities are all it has left
