Researchers studied 99 COVID-19 patients and found that SARS-CoV-2’s nucleocapsid protein can trigger complement activation even without matching antibodies. This suggests the N protein may play a larger role than spike in severe immune overreactions. https://t.co/prvdaOWG6K

UC Irvine scientists report that Long COVID may be driven by hidden reservoirs of SARS-CoV-2 lingering in organs for months or years. These reservoirs keep the immune system overstimulated, leading to fatigue, brain fog, and organ damage. https://t.co/z5U1NCCQZ0
