I have seen many diseased lungs, both in the OR and in pathology, but nothing like this. Some of the lung tissue from people who died from Spanish Flu who had been preserved in the permafrost were said to have looked like they were exposed to chemical weapons. Now I get it. 20yo!.

Well, we are screwed. We needed to get these in production months ago. Even with a good egg supply, it's about 6 months to roll out influenza vaccine for 1/3 of the US. If you haven't noticed, birds (chickens are birds ๐) die from H5N1, so the manufacturing pipeline is narrower.
Biden administration has no current plans to authorize a bird flu vaccine for humans, according to NBC News. The move means any decisions about a bird flu vaccine will likely be left to health officials in the incoming Trump administration.
