15-year-old handed 100 needles, no questions asked, no intervention whatsoever . . . this is how Seattle does “public health”????
Shocking behind the scenes with Selah, a sophomore at Newport High, asking for harm reduction kits that include tools to smoke and inject narcotics such as fentanyl and meth. We discuss the contradiction of public health and public safety as needles and foils end up on our

A Mom with toddler awaits her drug dealer to let her in to a Plymouth Housing project. Tax Payer funded Plymouth on Stewart houses four major known drug dealers in Seattle. The rest of the residents “are drug addicted thieves” according to my trusted sources. Housing doesn’t end

@SusanGriffin530 @rationalinpdx That is so sweet. Wow, your timing is perfect. Thank you so very much! @rationalinpdx is someone I greatly admire. She allowed me to voice the hell we went through trying to get Portland to help my son. He’s free now. And the amazing memories I was left with ease the pain of all

"They're such liars": Leaders like @TinaKotek have gone to great lengths to paint Portland as safe and calm during the ongoing unrest. But local business owners tell me they're being ignored, neglected, and gaslit.

When I entered Portland politics, I didn’t expect to become an expert in campaign finance law. I thought hiring experts would be enough. It wasn’t—at least not for a political moderate in a region where activists dominate elite positions that shape elections—positions

@GoodLuckUNeedIt @SMeieran Here is a piece I wrote a while back on Oregon that might be helpful. I will also add that the federal government will soon be rolling out "treatment-focused" guidelines that will be required to receive federal funding. System leaders in your state will likely try and skirt

Oregon DMV sells your data and brings in millions of dollars from the data sold, there's no way to opt-out. In the past few years Oregon DMV has had major scandals including mistakenly enrolling thousands of non-citizens to vote and a data breach of 3.5 million Oregonians.

As long as you allow this 24/7 (photo just taken), not much is gonna change at the library. What are you going TO DO?
We CAN’T ACCEPT this as the new normal! The shooting outside our Central Library is tragic and terrifying! It is heartbreaking that a life was lost and that a violent incident would play out in broad daylight in Downtown Portland. Our public spaces need to be safe and welcoming.

To my mentors, and boss man @shellenberger I / Seattle wouldn’t be here without our North America Recovers movement who have all worked so hard to put long lost recovery back on the map, restore public safety, the environment, and dignity for our addicted and mentally ill loved

The downtown Portland library block has been known for violence and fentanyl for many years now, it's also where Kristin @rationalinpdx was attacked and used to record podcasts.
1/3 of employees at the downtown library in Portland operated by Multnomah County had fentanyl exposure. Those of us living in Portland know the downtown library has been an established open air drug market for many years.
