So... the people who currently pay no taxes will leave the country if we make them pay taxes, and we'll lose all the taxes that they don't pay. No, let me try that again...

@raphaeldogg No you’re confused, the people that already pay the most tax will leave the country, forcing those that pay the least tax to pay more tax to fill the gap. Glad we helped you get there in the end.

@raphaeldogg think of all the tradespeople employed to renovate/build their houses, take care of their kids, keep their cars running, etc. hnwi contribute a lot more to an economy than the taxes they pay.

@raphaeldogg @grok can you please tell us what percentage of the population of NYC as an example pays what share of the taxes per some illustrative wealth buckets?

@raphaeldogg I think the top 1% of earners pay for 40% of the government's expenditures each year, something like that. Your argument is spurious.

@raphaeldogg you must be quite retarded, because currently the top 1% of wealthiest individuals pay 50% of the taxes now read that again, idiot.

@raphaeldogg Err, you're not supposed to believe your own side's propaganda that they don't pay taxes... Go look up the ONS stats and you'll see that they pay an awful lot of tax indeed...

I urge each of Buke’s aliases to stop deceiving others. I also urge @dallaspd to stop accepting kickbacks in exchange for allowing these ALFs to get away with elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation. Really not a good luck when north central is a stone’s throw from this hell-hole

@raphaeldogg Don't forget they will also stop using the taxpayer funded services and infrastructure that they don't pay for.

@raphaeldogg If you've made a billion in profit, somethings gone wrong. All the tax dodges, loopholes etc. should be closed. You think the rise in billionaires and the rise of poverty are totally separated? Who's side you all on?

@raphaeldogg But they DO pay tax. The top 1% of earners pay 30% of income tax revenues. The top 10% of earners pay 60% of income tax revenues.

@raphaeldogg Just for the record, every single time they've made that threat, they've been lying https://t.co/yYtUx08OO2

@raphaeldogg Quick reminder that 90% of all taxes are paid by the top 50% income earners. 28.5% is paid by the top 1%. Anything that threatens to punish the people who are paying a huge chunk of our taxes is based on nothing but jealousy.

@raphaeldogg Do you really believe that the wealthy don't pay tax? How do you think this happens? They put a secret "illuminati" code on their tax return and they are immediately exempted? The top 1% pay about a third of all income tax. Look at the facts

@raphaeldogg Yep, you'd better try that again and see if it's possible to come up with something that's not bullshit.

@raphaeldogg How many people earning the average wage does it take to cover one of these people leaving?

@raphaeldogg The bit you’re confused about is they do pay tax. The top 1% pay 30% of the tax take and the top 10% pay 80%. Stop believing the propaganda and do some research. Top 1% £258 billion, top 10% £688 billion contributions. Other 20% £172 billion.

@raphaeldogg People who pay the most tax will leave if we make the pay more tax so we'll lose all the taxes they pay and we'll all have to pay more tax to make up the shortfall. Important to remember that income tax isn't the only tax you (and they) pay.

@raphaeldogg You are a complete fucking idiot. The only people who don’t pay tax on their income are the unemployed. I pay six figure in tax and am sick of being treated as a piggy back for the lazy, the feckless and for Labour to squander it on their vanity projects.

@raphaeldogg I assume you're referencing raising tax for the top earners? That was tried in the 70s, by Labour. Those people did leave the country. That included artists, for example, music groups. Memories fade and new generations came through and now it's going full circle again.

@raphaeldogg Except the wealthy combined pay the bulk of taxes Don't you understand, more leave then higher the taxes for low-mid wage earners We're in a really bad place and Labour's making all unsustainable as far more take from the system than contribute
