Because we’re not going to have patients held to ransom by endless strikes. I’d rather we didn’t have this transactional relationship. Unfortunately that’s where we are with strikes - I even offered to extend the mandate to stop strikes next week and was refused by the BMA.

Another Sunday well spent. Thank you @dr_a_shivram &team @bipa_uk for inviting me to chair today’s #PsychTalk session on #PerinatalPsychiatry. Great discussions on lithium in pregnancy, postnatal psychosis & PMDD, inspiring enthusiasm from IMGs and early-career psychiatrists.

New analysis suggests the recent rise in health-related benefit claims is likely to be partly explained by the sharp drop in real incomes from the cost of living crisis. Social security should be there for any of us when we need it, such as losing a job or becoming unwell.

You can’t be a “party girl” at 13. You can’t consent to sex at 13. You’re not “down with it” at 13. This was rape. It’s always been rape. It will always be rape. I’m so tired of rape apologists trying to normalize pedophilia. These were children.
