When I was little and people found out my dad had died they always said they were sorry, which is wild to hear when you’re 6 because I thought an apology was for when you did something wrong. Had full-on conspiracies that people had killed him and that’s why they were sorry 😂.

6 years together and @DrJessTaylor & I have just discovered we’ve been buying blueberries for each other this whole time….Both thinking it’s the other one’s favourite. Tonight we just found out neither of us actually like blueberries 😂.

Blaming in this way might help us feel more in control, but it causes real harm in any context. We need to be more mindful of what we say, more willing to challenge why we think it, & above all, more kind in how we respond to families living through this unimaginable grief.

Instead of repeating harmful & unhelpful narratives, we can pause & ask ourselves why we’re thinking this way. Are we trying to feel safer? Are we trying to make sense of something that is, by its very nature, senseless & heartbreaking?.

Waterworld is known to be extremely busy, & some believe it’s often over capacity. Anyone who has taken children to a waterpark knows how quickly things can change. With small lungs, limited strength, & very little time before water becomes dangerous, a 4 year old child can get.

But this reflex to blame doesn’t make anyone safer. It only adds more pain to a family who are already living through the worst thing imaginable. Their child has died during what should have been a happy family day out. They don’t deserve judgment or suspicion. They deserve.

This isn’t about cruelty, more often it’s about fear. It’s a psychological self-protection mechanism. By blaming others, people create an illusion of safety & control. Even I’ve had to catch & challenge that instinct in myself.

When we’re confronted with something horrifying or deeply unsettling, like the sudden & traumatic death of a child, our minds often try to create distance from the event. Blaming the parents is one way people do that. It allows them to believe they are different, that they would.

Comments like ‘where were her parents?’ or ‘I’d never let this happen to my children’ are everywhere right now & are dominating public conversations. These responses remind me so much of the victim blaming I see in my job every day.

The tragic incident of the 4-year-old girl who lost her life at Waterworld is extremely heart-wrenching but it’s so important that we don’t rush to blame the family, especially before we have any of the facts.

I don’t see how the ‘great jeans’ AE ad is an issue even if it is a double entendre.

Had no idea who that Joey Barton was apart from some guy on here frothing with rage about women’s football. Until this morning when I saw an old video of him playing. Turns out he was a footballer. Watching his ‘skills’ explains why he’s so angry about the Lionesses being.

Football is one of the biggest hangovers of strict gender roles in the UK. That’s what’s driving the outrage. Young, confident, charismatic women succeeding in male-dominated spaces hits a longstanding cultural and historical nerve. What’s pathetic is how many people, even some.

If you have a problem with women’s football, you have a problem with women. No matter how you try to dress it up.

Well I hope Man City feel like absolute pieces of 💩 after what they did to Chloe Kelly. Once again, give half a chance she absolutely shines through. In Sarina we trust 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿♥️.
