Today the orthopaedic registrar in NZ who was working with me told me he made $250,000 this year (pre tax). That is at least 40% more than I’ve ever made as a ”junior” doctor + about £35,000 more than starting salary for an NHS consultant. The strikes haven���t been hard enough.
