1/ It’s a big day for the Radicle community 👾 We're excited to announce the rollout of our first release candidate for Radicle 1.0 — our most significant update to date 🎉
Start collaborating today 👉
Here’s an overview of what’s new 🧵
Say hello to Drips💧, a new web3 protocol, built by the
@radicle
DAO, that allows anyone to generate continuous income using subscriptions and NFT memberships 🌈
👉 👈
So, what’s a drip? 👇
Today, we're announcing the launch of Radicle's Ethereum integration and its native governance token.
With this release, Radicle becomes the first open-source, community-led, and self-sustaining network for software collaboration.
🌱
Heartwood ❤️🪵is a complete redesign of the Radicle P2P protocol:
A new Noise-based wire protocol is used instead of QUIC, eliminating the need for TLS certificates and enabling Tor support for improved privacy and censorship-resistance.
We believe the
@graphprotocol
is *the* decentralized data layer of Web3. We're thrilled to be supporting their mission & governance process with resilient collaboration infrastructure.
Looking forward to building the open internet together 🌱✌️
The Radicle LBP event has ENDED🌱🥳 Swapping on Balancer has been paused.
Here are some final stats:
🕺Over 1800 new token holders
🔥Almost $25M raised for the Treasury
✨~1.875% of the total supply claimed
Thank you to everybody who participated 🙏

beta and countless hours
of user feedback and bug fixing, today we're happy to
announce:
💻 a brand new CLI
🌈 a web interface
🛤️ many infrastructure improvements that make the radicle experience more
reliable & streamlined.👇
1/ 𝚛 𝚊 𝚍 𝚒 𝚌 𝚕 𝚎 > Towards decentralized code collaboration 🌱
Last April we launched Radicle alpha. After lots of experimentation, user feedback and support [love 💕], we're sharing a bigger update on where we are and where we're going.
Announcing the Radicle Community Discord 🌱
In light of popular demand, we've started a community-led server for the Radicle project. It will be a hub for announcements, product updates, community chat, governance discussions, and memes.
Come say hi 👋
"From its inception, Radicle was envisioned as a new kind of open-source project — one built, governed, and financed on the internet."
Read on for more about the future of Radicle 👉
After only eight weeks since releasing in beta, we've reached over 🎉 1000 projects 🎉 published to the Radicle network.
A new future is coming and it seems like you all are ready for it 🌱
As we pass this major milestone, we wanted to give an update on what's coming next 👇
🌱 Only 24hrs left in the Radicle LBP event! 🌱

1/ At its lowest level, Drips allows any Ethereum user to stream funds periodically to any other Ethereum user, while also enabling collecting 👛 from multiple streams with just a single transaction.
Our RAD-EUR, RAD-GBP, RAD-BTC & RAD-USDT order books will now enter limit-only mode. Limit orders can be placed and cancelled, and matches may occur. Market orders cannot be submitted. The order books will remain in limit-only mode for a minimum of 10 mins.
Radicle is excited to support
@gitcoin
Grants Round 13! 🌱🤖
In addition to supporting the main GR13 fund, we're running a $25k Ecosystem Round for projects that use
@dripsnetwork
to stream 25+% of their Radicle ER match to other active
@gitcoin
grants💧
How to participate 🧵👇
✨Announcing Grants Round 13✨
We have $1.2 million in matching funds available in the main round 💰
& Over $1.5M matching funds across 9 ecosystem rounds & 3 cause rounds

✨Proposal
#4
✨completes the Radicle LBP event by closing the
@BalancerLabs
pool and transferring the remaining RAD/USDC balances to the Radicle Treasury + adding liquidity to a Uniswap trading pair.
Discussion:
Proposal:
1/ Our latest release candidate (1.0.0-rc.6) includes support for 🧅 Tor (
@torproject
) when used as a transparent proxy. This means Radicle nodes can connect to each other through the Tor network for greater privacy and censorship resistance.
🎉The Radicle LBP event is LIVE 🎉
Official contract: 0x824603F89e27aF953cAB03a82017e4a74dd4Df73
All relevant information can be found on including an FAQ and step-by-step guide on how to participate.
1/ We believe that our dependence on centralized platforms and corporations for the production and distribution of free & open-source software is inherently unsustainable.
To truly build an open internet free from corporate and state control we *need* resilient infrastructure.

= dao-owned repos 🌱
Here's a first look at what's coming with Radicle Orgs 👇
IMO, this is going to be one of the most important pieces of the decentralized stack. But maybe I'm biased 😉
Drop your thoughts in the thread!
Not long ago, I started working on a web client for
@radicle
. The idea was to allow read-only access to Radicle's P2P network, to browse projects and source code, as well as access the Ethereum state directly from the browser. Here's a sneak peak. 👀
👾👾👾
We need neutral and permissionless infrastructure to truly free the web 🏴☠️
Reliance on centralized forges is not sustainable for the future of free and open source software. We built Radicle to change that.
Try Radicle. Free your code.
SourceHut has decided to remove all crypto-currency related projects effective 2023 []
This decision contradicts the ethos of open source software and our belief in the the need for censorship-resistant, permissionless, and sustainable infrastructure.
Due to popular demand, there is now a Snapshot proposal to unpause swapping on the Balancer LBP pool 🌻
This is to provide more RAD liquidity in the short-term while a formal proposal is moved through official governance.
Voting will last for 24hrs ✨
2/ Radicle is a new kind of code collab network built on Git. It's:
🤝 Peer-to-peer — no central servers, no censorship
💻 Local-first — everything's stored on your machine
🔐 Secure by design — no accounts, just crypto 🔑
💕 For the collective — a fresh take on sustainability
Radworks is now official.
Excited for this next chapter and grateful to be part of the

ecosystem as we work towards a freer internet. Read the full announcement👇
We’re excited to announce the start of the next chapter in our long march towards a freer internet: Radworks 🌱
Radworks is the community-governed network behind
@radicle
(p2p code collaboration) &
@dripsnetwork
(p2p fund sharing & splitting).
3/ This release is the first step towards decentralized code collaboration — a fully functioning peer-to-peer network for sharing, hosting, and collaborating on code.
Along with it comes an open-source desktop client we call Radicle Upstream.
Say hello to your workspace 👋
Stay tuned for regular updates on the radicle protocol, product, and tech stack.

The WhatsApp backdoor is now public and official. I have said this many times: there is no future for privacy or security tools that are centralized or proprietary. If you can't decentralize it some government will strongarm you for access.
3/ Fans can support and engage with their favorite creators 🎨 and communities ⛲️ by purchasing memberships and/or by “dripping” funds to any address in the network in recurring configurable intervals.
8/ The Drips protocol is also being integrated (on an opt-in basis) with the rest of the Radicle stack, so developers can leverage it to fund their FOSS work. 🌱
3/ Radicle 1.0 features the core primitives for code collaboration, including patches and issues, with CI coming soon 🌽
Typically, artifacts like patches and issues are only found on centralized platforms like GitHub or GitLab, or their self-hosted counterparts. In Radicle,…
