Open source needs open infrastructure. 🛠️ Fintan Halpenny of @radicle builds peer-to-peer tools that let developers collaborate without centralized platforms. Hear from him at FtC Buenos Aires on November 19.

For all who dare to challenge the powers that be, there will always be a need for private spaces to collaborate. When gatekeepers control the platforms, true dissent requires its own infrastructure. Local-first, peer-to-peer, private—this is the way forward.

in the future, anonymous open source contributions will be a legend whispered around digital campfires... "They say a lone dev once fixed a bug... without showing their passport."

Wow, zero of my services and things I depend on are unaffected because I either self-host in my own house or use Hetzner. Radicle is also up, so I can push changes... This is getting boring, I should use AWS

Never fall into the mistake of depending on BigTech, ever.
man. this just made me realize how big tech can just decide to fuck your life over if they wanted to. one github account suspended and i just now lost my access to my vercel account, 50 accounts with SSO, and years worth of work.... i'm going back to self-hosting everything

There’s a better home for open source 🌍 Today. Forever.
hello @github why did my account get suspended??? i have been using github for years and have never done anything that goes against the TOS on this platform a lot of very sensitive repos are on my account, and there is no way i can even log in to back them up.

After seeing peoples' github accounts getting banned, I'm considering backing up my code to Radicle might as well take jujutsu for a spin while I'm at it

A free society needs free speech. But speech isn't free if it’s watched or punished. Thats why privacy matters. Code is speech. It’s how ideas get real. That's why @radicle: the only privacy-preserving censorship-resistant network for code. ✊Free speech/Free code/Free society

This is your regular reminder that your code should be hosted on @radicle and not @github if you love liberty, decentralisation and freedom. https://t.co/JPZ5Joc99G

Use @radicle.
Github now flagged my organizations. This platform is becoming each day worst for developers. The good I run these repos locally and I already begun migration to Codeberg and soon Ngit.

It's hard to give the user good UX with a Truly P2P (aka every user is his own node, no mega nodes) architecture but it's possible, Radicle is slowly doing it!
"decentralized" anything is always bound to fail due to things such as The Nature of Networks and The Fabric of the Universe and other things
