Just a month later and... 🇪🇺 ChatControl is back! Now they're trying to pass an even more far reaching ChatControl law through the back door, in a form even more intrusive than the originally rejected plan, without needing any of the EU countries votes The new proposal: -
Freedom won today! 🚫 No ChatControl in EU Now keep this snooping on people's private messages off the 🇪🇺 EU's agenda forever please

One thing I've learned is that a *lot* of people consider phones to be inherently insecure and they go to some effort to sequester their high-value stuff onto their desktop and keep it off of their phone. That's backwards! Phones are secure. Desktops are not.

Want to understand B-trees better? Try https://t.co/IBGLxVle6D and https://t.co/83QfJ8sNcd. These are standalone sandboxes of the visuals I built for my "B-trees and database indexes" article. Helpful for learning B-tree insertion, search, and node splits.

🚀 My first @livestoredev tutorial just went live! It handholds you in integrating LiveStore in a React app: 1. Start with local React state 2. Add LiveStore for *local* persistence 3. Auto-sync to @Cloudflare 4. Persist UI state 👉 https://t.co/oIao3aiqyF

Two weeks ago I fixed one of my teeth with algorithms I wrote a couple of years ago! I got hooked by 3D scanning when I started to work for a software shop in Zurich that was programming 3D computational geometry algorithms for denture scanning to produce crowns (and more). Back

uber banned in germany because it's illegal for drivers to arrange their own rides europe truly hates freedom more than anything else. it shows in their 0% gdp growth last 20 years
a German court has ordered @Uber not to offer rides anymore because "the app violates the Passenger Transportation Act by arranging the rides directly with the drivers. The law stipulates that this may only be done through the central office of the car rental company." - quietly

There’s an idea that is widespread among software engineers that goes: “Sure BLAKE3 is faster in software, but CPU makers put dedicated hardware for SHA256 into their CPUs so SHA256 is faster than, or at least as fast as, BLAKE3 practice.”. This argument is mostly mistaken. …

I recently got nerdsniped by @zooko into implementing fast BLAKE3 hashing of multiple small blobs. I wrote a blog post about my experiment. https://t.co/sb0zJkbGJm It would be cool to polish this a bit and turn it into a public API. CC @Blake3Team @oconnor663

I have a single friend in his late 30s right now. Mega-millionaire. Doing whatever he wants. He's happy! He always asks me "where are you going next" and I always respond "nowhere, I just want to be home with my kid." And he looks at me like I'm CRAZY. He tries to empathize, but

In-protocol state expiry removes most of Ethereum's stale state, but it's hard to ship without good revive UX. With real-time proving, perhaps out-of-protocol may suffice. 👇 This article compares the approaches and why it matters for Ethereum’s future: https://t.co/xKfBZlhmGk
