The point is SHE KNOWS what that life is like?! She has several siblings and friends married with children. She grew up partially in the countryside. She’s met other mild-mannered suitors. Literally NOTHING about Phillip Crane is a mystery.

No one made the writers make a regency era noble girl spout feminist talking points that are very critical of marriage. If you cant see how building up a character like that only to slowly isolate her break her down, and make her marry has tradwife vibes then your stupid.
Calling Eloise’s upcoming arc “tradwife propaganda” is so funny to me, this is a literal romance show set in Regency England??? Yeah, she’s gonna fall in love and get married, that’s what the show is about?

tbh i think "filler" episodes are super important to fleshing out the universe and make character bonds and its super lame show runners are starting to think every episode needs huge bombshells dropping to be worth anyones time

i do think criticism of the romance genre at large being ignored or shut shown with arguments like ‘it’s a romance story, what did you expect?’ or ‘that’s just the genre’ harmfully perpetuates the idea that romance is inherently of less value than other types of media
