comparing to To Sir Phillip, With Love to Jane Eyre is an insult to Jane Eyre. Rochester (who Crane is basically a copycat of) loses his hand and an eye in his redemption arc. Rochester goes through hell. Phillip gets what he wants and doesn't develop or improve.

eloise's season is different to the others despite all seasons being misogynistic by default cause she is the only lead who has introduced a counterpoint for the writers to actively ignore and dismiss in the process. that should not be difficult to grasp.

i could write essays on Eloise brushing off her visit to Scotland as dull, when Scotland was a cultural powerhouse, but i just think the writers wanted to brush off Eloise's progressive politics to build towards her season so any exploration of that was not possible
i can't believe we didn't get even ONE interaction between michaela and eloise. eloise spent the whole season feeling isolated in her views about marriage and here comes someone who deeply relates and we don't even get to see them talk???
