Gone are the days of mentally keen conservatives in Ontario. Ford is just one of many who now run Ontario and have little time for anyone with expertise. A global trend that's all very Trumpish.
In late 2023, Janet Ecker was fired from the Metrolinx board by Doug Ford after critical "TWO HOOTS" editorial about Doug Ford's handling of the #GreenBeltScandal. Ecker expressed concerns about "Ford's gov internal culture" & "flawed plan" related to the Greenbelt.

Doug Ford needs to account for every penny his government has collected from the feds since the day he was first elected. The @MarkJCarney government needs to start holding all the premiers accountable for every cheque the federal government sends to the provinces.

How backwards is this? @fordnation @KingaSurmaMPP closed our beloved Ontario Science Centre for no reason, and only now, 10 months later, are trying to figure out what to do next. Will a new Ontario Science Centre ever be built? Or was this all a ruse?.

Funny, you're not complaining about your leader calling for less to be put into the public kitty and being wishy washy as to how he'll pay for defense and "affordable" housing. Not to many young folks can put out a $M for their first home. Your logic doesn't connect.
This is insane. We can't afford this. We will all go bankrupt. We have to stop Carney. Share this as widely as possible. Talk to your friends and family. Save Canada.

Recalling this Therme story, with it back in the news. Leslie Noble, a longtime lobbyist & icon in conservative politics in Ontario, has for a few years been a key figure for Therme. Noble joined the company's CEO on Therme Canada's board of directors last July. Read more:.

I've wondered about what was going down in Niagara Region. It was the hospital that initially attracted my attention. Since Ford took over good money has gone into hospital buildings. Except that it's seen as healthcare funding we haven't heard a lot about the contracts.

Gee, It's mostly to be built on the water and over many, many separate parcels. Surely the existing site is better than this design. The Science Centre is a year round facility for kids. Just think of all the outdoor walking being put in place here. @C_Mulroney.@ShamjiAdil.

Anecdotal but likely relevant.
I just got off the phone with a business owner in Mississippi. He’s pumped millions into a business distributing a product he imports from China. His contract with the company prevents him from manufacturing it in the U.S. He also has contracts with a number of large retailers.
