Because of the government shutdown, you can't yet see our public submission to Treasury’s request for comment on combatting illicit activity in crypto. So figured we'd post it online now. TL;DR: programmable compliance builds on existing solutions + data to stop illicit activity
Predicate has responded to @USTreasury's request for comment on methods to mitigate illicit activity in digital assets. The key takeaway: Compliance today is reactive. It must become proactive to stop bad activity before it happens. Summary thread + full letter below.

Glad we were able to quickly respond even with widespread data outages to support @intmaxIO with their AML requirements. We’ll be making @0xPredicate even more robust and dynamic in the next month 💪🏾
The AML part is actually somehow decentralized since it’s switchable when it’s proven to be down like this case. The provider was switched and it continued.

Amazing 2 days at the DC Privacy Summit. Closed-door sessions with researchers, privacy projects, regulators & law enforcement, followed by a conference with insightful discussions. Main takeaway: privacy will happen in web3 with compliance. And this will be an iterative
