We'd much prefer to contribute to more positive stories about active travel in Merton - maybe next time, especially if the Walking and Cycling Strategy is ambitious. @Merton_Council @RossGarrod @cllr_alambritis @eleanorSW19

Merton residents have said they fear for their lives when cycling through the borough While the council plans to improve cycling infrastructure, many feel the borough lags 'far behind' the rest of London @H_Galliven1 https://t.co/Edrh8arhkk

Good to see lack of public toilet provision noted as a barrier to active travel in @CMO_England's annual report. In our London Loos campaign & our work w/ the London Loo Alliance we know how important provision is when it comes to public health & health equity @Listen_toLocals

“Making walking and cycling more practical and safer, and access to green space easier and more equitable, would go a long way toward removing barriers to improving physical activity levels and could significantly improve the health of England’s increasingly urban population.”

It was an honour to represent @TheGreenParty at the national Remembrance ceremony at the cenotaph this morning. And after observing the minute's silence and the laying of wreaths, I walked from Whitehall to Tavistock Square to join the alternative Remembrance ceremony organised

7 years on from the Paulley v Firstgroup ruling, which affirmed bus drivers’ duty to ask those with buggies to vacate the wheelchair space, this is still a weekly occurrence. Why am I regularly refused access to a bus and forced to wait for a 2nd or 3rd? Why does nothing change?

We've long been one of the bodies to question the 'energy from waste' argument used to justify the use of the Beddington incinerator in the South London Waste Partnership. Air pollution and stagnant recycling rates made us suspect that we were being had. https://t.co/IsEGerYenv

A thread on what's happened at @afcwimbledon, drawing on a few years experience working on flooding. #AFCW Despite reports, I don't think the flooding was from the River Wandle.... 🧵

❌ 100 days and only *a letter* to show for it. @UKLabour certainly *didn't* hit the ground running on the building safety crisis. It's not a Government priority and it shows. Ask anyone who is trapped in a dangerous building or has a flat they can't remortgage or sell.

Depressing news that Govt may approve bee-killing pesticide despite election promise to ban it - & outrageous that British Sugar has applied to use neonics for 5th year, despite industry commitment to end reliance in 2023. Govt must act to protect bees 🐝
