The 19th-century scientists who stumbled on the phrase 'the greenhouse effect' never imagined their work would be misused to justify dismantling reliable energy before replacements exist. The misnamed greenhouse effect is not a lid trapping heat but a modest radiative delay

Ever wondered why some environmental crusades feel more like power plays than actual planet-saving? @mattyglesias just dropped a sharp NYT op-ed arguing that U.S. liberals should stop demonizing domestic oil & gas. When managed smartly, it creates good jobs, displaces dirtier

Liberals should reconcile with America’s oil and gas industry.

What is the 'right' temperature for Britain? Warmer than today? Or colder? ==> If we don't know the answer, then how do we know whether we should be fighting global warming or encouraging it? Show your working..
Great news! Warm is good. Cold is bad. Bravo global warming! https://t.co/conYEDU7Ux

Just imagine! Wouldn't it be great if Mother Nature had figured out a way to store ancinet sunbeams. And left the store there for us to use when we needed some sunbeam power! And wouldn't it be even better if it was free! And all we have to do is dig it up She did. It's here

If the WEF’s Great Reset is truly good, why don’t citizens get a vote? No vote on Net Zero. No vote on ESG rules. No vote on Digital ID. No vote on CBDCs. No vote on DEI. No vote on censorship. This isn’t democracy. It’s elite rule & central planning. No vote. No consent. No

Yet another example of how climate alarmists act when they run out of talking points. This is also why Al Gore said the debate is over, because then the public would quickly see that data trumps narratives - and that there really is no climate emergency -- just climate alarmism.

Earth is greening dramatically thanks to CO₂—a true windfall for life. Here's why net-zero policies miss this vital benefit... The Earth is greening at a rate never seen before in recorded history, based on satellite records from 1982–2023. Global crop yields have risen 15-20%

The supply of wind turbines, solar panels and EV batteries to meet zet zero faces paralysing logjams of critical components like lithium and copper. The most urgent involves demand for lithium and copper, but also affects nickel and graphite. This quandary is also likely to

@PeterDClack @saltynutbutter Most of these discussions are sideshows. The issues are 1) what is the forcing for CO2. Hansens 1981 paper was in its time convincing for many including me- not now- 2) has there been warm and cold periods before in the last 12,000 yrs that did not involve Co2 change. The

Zeke does a good job confirming we are still thawing out from the Little Ice Age. This is good, because global warming saves lives.
I've put together my predictions for 2026 and 2027 temperatures over at The Climate Brink. I expect 2026 will likely end up similar to 2023 and 2025 at ~1.4C above preindustrial, while 2027 will likely be considerably warmer (conditional on El Nino)

@ryangerritsen Here's your answer. The Tar Sands Campaign divided us. These ENGOs influenced everything. Lots of money. Lots of foot soldiers. Lots of influence, esp in the media. Environmental Charities – A Compilation of Reports on their Finances, Power and Implications for Canada

We should have the most affordable food in the world. But a family of 4 will spend $1,000 more on groceries next year because of Liberal food taxes. Take Liberal taxes off your grocery bill to bring Canadians food they can afford: https://t.co/go1RQTqSrz

@ScottLuft This 2016 article by Gretchen Bakke on how Venezuela's decline began with unreliable power generation is a lesson. Of course, if people are using hydro to back-up wind... pretty soon you might run out of hydro if the weather gods don't cooperate w rain. The Electricity Crisis
