I love the use of the word "could" when claiming climate catastrophes. Al Gore said more CO2 could melt Kilimanjaro snows by 2016. It still snows there every year - and its about 200 miles south the equator.
Carbon dioxide is not only warming the lower atmosphere — it's also cooling the upper atmosphere.

One correction, plants consume more water as they grow larger, not less. In a greenhouse setting one can provide more water and nutrients in a controlled setting to accommodate even growth, but that doesn't apply to plants in the wild.
