🚨PAPER ALERT🚨 So happy to finally see this story online! If you enjoy cool genetics and want to learn about a surprising link between DNA damage, ribosomal stalling and p53-independent apoptosis, you should definitely check this out Thread by @ThijnBrummel ⬇️
How does DNA damage cause apoptosis when p53 is mutated? Critical to understand treatment of many tumors. Excited that ‘DNA damage induces p53-independent apoptosis through ribosome stalling’ by Nicolaas Boon and collaborators is out: https://t.co/BUFlO8hN3C

Amazing genetics by @glmclelland and @ThijnBrummel exposes a new TAG biosynthesis pathway in human cells! Has been a pleasure to follow this story develop over the years - congrats to all co-authors! Check out the paper or great thread by Gian-Luca below 👇
It’s #lipidtime! We leveraged the genetics underlying #lipiddroplet abundance to identify a new, alternative #triglyceride synthesis pathway. You can read more about this online in @Nature at https://t.co/mtQJ1R2A7t, but you can also get the tl;dr below 👇

Home to my PhD and a continuous inspiration for basic research in Denmark - sad to see NNF CPR is closing shop. Big loss for blue skies research in Denmark!
Saddened by the decision of the NNF not to extend core funding for @UCPH_CPR beyond a phaseout period in 2025/26. CPR has been a resounding success and a beacon for blue skies research in Denmark. Being part of this unique research environment has been an honor and a privilege.
