A little song I've been working on about #RankedChoiceVoting and #ProportionalRepresentation. Enjoy! https://t.co/daL0z3PqId

“Ranked choice voting helps a party unify around the most competitive candidate without fracturing the party. In crowded primaries, the incentive is to tear each other down. With #RankedChoiceVoting the incentive is flipped.” – @MeredithSumpter on RCV in presidential primaries⬇️
Democratic politicians and activists are quietly lobbying for ranked choice voting, which would change the future of the party’s primaries. https://t.co/ukswWm8VNI

In case you run into folks throwing around Italy as an example. Both Italy and Israel are unusual in that Israel has a single nationwide district and Italy is a mixed system without compensatory seats (MMM, unlike the well-regarded MMP system in Germany and New Zealand).
@Graff2023 The claim that proportional representation (PR) inherently worsens polarization, using Germany’s AfD and Italy’s Meloni as examples, oversimplifies the picture. In many European countries, polarization is actually moderated by the structure of their political systems. Multi-party

Tariffs went up, coffee prices spiked. Tariffs came down, prices plunged. Free market lesson of the day: when you stop taxing what people buy, they pay less for it.

@DHSgov @FaceTheNation See the lie: the government combines "criminal convictions" (people proven guilty) with "pending criminal charges" (people the government has accused,) and tells you 70% of people are criminals. INNOCENT. UNTIL. PROVEN. GUILTY.

Trump subtly admits U.S. importers are the ones paying tariffs to the Treasury. He boasts that U.S. companies will soon be unable to avoid paying the high taxes he unilaterally imposed. He says Americans who don’t like these high taxes “are serving hostile foreign interests.”

"The extreme division in our country is extraordinarily alarming and sad. It's embedded in the in the two party system... Everyday Americans are so sick of it." @RepMTG is right -- our toxic division is embedded in our two-party system. We need to break out of it.

Donald Trump is reposting calls to hang Democratic politicians on his Truth Social account. This is the type of deranged behavior you might expect from an internet troll, not the President of the United States.

Don’t be surprised a Trump judge struck down the Texas gerrymander. Judge Jeff Brown has a reputation for putting precedent ahead of partisanship, writes the Houston Chronicle editorial board.

On Dec. 30, most of us will be getting ready for New Year's Eve. But voters in Santa Clara County, CA will be asked to vote in a $13 million runoff election. @CalRCV's Tom Charron shares how #RankedChoiceVoting would make runoffs like these a thing of the past.⬇️
Op-ed: "Tell your county supervisor: It’s time to save money and enjoy our holidays without more politics. Let Santa Clara County adopt ranked choice voting." – Tom Charron, co-founder @CalRCV

Our current voting system is an outlier, not the norm. But anybody supported by either of the two parties doesn't want you to know this! #ProportionalRepresentation #ProRep #EndTheDuopoly
First Past the Post supporters sometimes pretend there are only two countries in the world: -UK, which uses FPTP -Italy, which uses PR In fact, 85% of developed countries use a form of Proportional Representation, including the world's most stable, equal and democratic nations.

It's not just liberals supporting #ProportionalRepresentation. This is article is from the right-leaning @RealClearPolicy.
"As long as winner-take-all remains the rule, both parties will race to weaponize the lines on the map. #ProportionalRepresentation is the only true solution because it renders gerrymandering irrelevant." https://t.co/hkJYZLbLz7

A reminder: Tariffs are a regressive tax. The anti-Robin Hood. Trump's current tariff settings effectively impose a tax rate on low-income households that's roughly TRIPLE that on high-income folks. That's not the way taxes are supposed to work. [source:

#ProportionalRepresentation would give us the policies *most* of us want (instead of policy lurch of alternating back and forth between the policies half really loves but the other half really hates).
@balajis Scandinavian countries like Denmark and Sweden use proportional representation. Everyone is represented, reforms might be slower as you need more consensus but governments don't spend their time undoing previous decisions.
