I feel that all this talk about AGI and “the end of software engineers” totally backfired. Now when it turned out that LLM in dev is on average “only” pretty useful, folks seem to be bummed.

As it is vibe coding is only short distance approach. It stops being effective as soon as any complexity appears (vibe coding understood in its original form i.e. pure conversational coding). It’s still impressive you can get even that far though!.
Debugging AI code in larger projects is getting more and more difficult. Lots of code written, abandoned functions, cron jobs that dont do anything anymore. Templates that arent used. High amount of noise. AI has no context what is used or not so it tries ot update everything.
