Incredible.
#wollongong
has been subject to “Greater Sydney” lockdown but Gong residents won’t be eligible for “test and isolate” payments.
Workers have been waiting days for test results without pay, doing what NSW Govt asked of them but not good enough to get NSW Govt support.
You are either an MP or a lobbyist - you cannot be both.
MP’s shouldn’t be collecting commissions from property developers on the side. This behaviour should have been reported by the Premier, not applauded by her.
Having said that, nowhere was working for a developer or as a lobbyist ever done by an MP to my knowledge ever. It's just absurd. Most second jobs were working as a GP (Andrew McDonald) or barrister one day a week (Adam Searle)
If you think being part of this protest was right - you’re wrong.
If you think it helps your friends and family - you’re wrong.
If you think it helps get
#wollongong
out of lockdown - you’re wrong.
If you think it helps health workers dealing with the pandemic - you’re wrong.
An appeal to the ppl who attended the protest in
#wollongong
yesterday - get tested today.
Your actions have created considerable community concern for no community benefit.
The least you can do now is help calm local anxiety. So do everyone a favour and get tested today.
As we start the week over 60,000 small businesses are still waiting for financial support from the NSW Government.
Many have not been trading for 7 weeks.
The Premier's best spin cannot hide the fact that this is a failure from the alleged party of small business.

I'm again asking
@Wollongong_City
to help people exercise safely of an evening by lighting up some suburban playing fields like many Sydney councils have done.
It's a simple way Council can support residents in lockdown.
With the Illawarra recording more than 100 cases today surely that's signal enough to the Berejiklian Government that its time to top up our vaccine allocation & get the

mass vaccination centre up to full capacity, not the one third level its been working at for weeks
From the so-called party of small business 👇
Many businesses in
#wollongong
are worried they might not last to see any small business support describing trading conditions as worse than at the height of last year's lockdown.

There was a bid to build them in Unanderra creating around 600 jobs in

This morning nearly 50,000 small businesses are still waiting on support applications worth more than $540M to be assessed.
We are 60 days into the lockdown. Seriously. How much longer are businesses going to have to wait.

#nswpol
Just been advised that
@Wollongong_City
has agreed to light 8 sports fields from 4.30-9pm (weather dependent) during lockdown.
They are:

Elizabeth Park
Thomas Dalton
Harry Graham
King George
Wisemans
Figtree Oval
Guest Park

With a median house price of more than $1.6M Sydney ranks as the second least affordable city in the world, only beaten by Hong Kong.
Five Australian state capitals ranked in the 20 least affordable cities in the world in 2022.
Now I’ve heard it all. NSW Liberal filibuster on NSW Labor’s emissions target Bill is spruiking the Illawarra Renewable Energy Zone that only exists because of a legislative amendment I moved.
The Libs didn’t want
#wollongong
to be part of our renewable energy future but I did.
This man's views are vile and offensive
They have now ruined a weekend activity for hundreds of

kids
As an SLS Illawarra Patron & Bellambi surf club member I again congratulate everyone involved in Pride Week and the Pride Board - thanks for keeping our beaches safe
There will be another access option other than the 72 steps at

Hopefully local suppliers will get work from this upgrade to support local jobs.
#wollongong
Who else thinks its time for
#wollongong
to have recycling bins in public places like our parks, at our beaches, around the Lake and not just the mall?
It's 2022 - we can do better with waste management in the Gong.
A lot of hard work to pack these over the weekend by many people incl

but well worth it.
Thanks to all who contributed and to Nicole Dillon and Port Kembla Mission to Seafarers for getting it all together. Well done

People who are waiting weeks and weeks to get in are right to feel even more let down than they feel already.

Lord Mayor said Liberal preferences will get him over the line.
What are the terms of the secret Bradbery/Lib preference deal?
What have they cooked up for Wollongong behind closed doors?
How will the Libs be repaid for delivering the LM the top job?
Now is not the time to divide regions.
I’ve lived my entire life in the Illawarra and it functions as one region.
The arguments used to classify Shellharbour as part of regional NSW equally apply to

I’m proud of the steel we produce in

You could have heard a pin drop at the

The standing ovation she received was fitting and deserved.
Picked up a really cool image of neurone at the Magnified exhibition at

Great work

The Berejiklian Govt will introduce support for fencing rebuilds for Forest Corp neighbours - part of

@JodiMcKayMP
and I put forward in February.
Time to adopt the rest of our plan - start by appointing a Forest Recovery Commissioner.
As news started to break of the awful events in Christchurch I was at Omar Mosque in Gwynneville speaking with Muslim worshipers.
I was standing with them at that time and stand with them now and into the future. No one should be the victim of hate crimes - ever.
After months of dealing with a pandemic I would have thought the NSW Government would have better prepared the system for the rapid roll-out of pop-up test sites to deal with situations like the one in

currently.
Reports that people are abusing the staff and owners of venues in

It’s not acceptable. Those engaged in it wouldn’t want it done to them.
Don’t behave this way

I can confirm that I have been assessed as a close contact of Minister Marshall based on Legislative Assembly seating arrangements and will be isolating for 2 weeks.
My office will be open and ready to assist as usual and I have plenty of work to keep me busy!
Plenty of activity at Unanderra Station today with the footbridges being lifted in to place. The lifts we have been waiting so long for are getting closer 🛗

Great to meet you today

Nearly 8 years of running down TAFE, including closing the Dapto campus, and now the Berejiklian Government us to believe it really supports TAFE 🤷♂️
How about they guarantee West

I hear a lot of speeches in this role but rarely do I hear one as powerful as the one

The state of the WEC is getting beyond a joke.
This game was stopped because

Combining our skilled workforce, research-led university, deep water ports and ambition for our cities to be part of the solution & future make us perfectly suited
Since the Berejiklian Government split the Illawarra,
#wollongong
residents can be in a “singles bubble” with someone from across the Sydney Harbour Bridge but not someone from across the Windang Bridge.
Welcome to the consequences of ad hoc changes to health orders.
So in 11 minutes of Berejiklian Government members speaking about their F6 extension not one of them mentioned the toll or how many years the road will be tolled.
Umm....do they think that they can hide the fact it’s going to cost commuters around $100 a week.
Good to see you finally made it to

CBD
@Dom_Perrottet
- but why the secret visit?
You should’ve let me know. I could have taken you to businesses who wld have loved a small business grant but weren’t eligible.
Next time you are in the Gong I guess...early 2023?
If the NSW Govt can run a hydrogen bus trial on the Central Coast they can run one in

It appears the Premier's claims to have no plans to privatise Sydney Water have gone down the gurgler with secret plans to privatise all of Sydney Water well developed and one water plant has already been sold.....
#EXCLUSIVE

The NSW government has awarded the operations contract to the foreign group, despite denials it would privatise Sydney Water.

No justification as to why Wollongong continues to be deliberately ruled ineligible to apply for Berejiklian Government funding programs. We deserve our fair share.

As we get closer to Easter it’s time to consider amending the Public Health Order to allow all members of a congregation to fully participate in religious ceremonies.
Restrictions on pubs, clubs and sporting events have been relaxed, it’s time to consider religious ceremonies.

Since before I was elected I've worked on Illawarra economic diversification and our role in building a low carbon economy.
Our steel, skills and port can make a great contribution but we need supportive NSW and Federal Govt policies to help deliver it.
The moment
#wollongong
has been waiting for & thought would never come - first funding allocation for lifts at Unanderra Station in today's budget.
I said in the 2016 by-election I was determined to deliver lifts at this station & end the 72 step challenge - lifts coming soon.
Thanks

Medical advice says vaccination key to getting this in check yet the

I said prior to my election that I would work every day to get a commitment and I have achieved that.
Now I will continue to hold the Berejiklian Government to its timetable to complete the lifts at Unanderra Station.
This is a win for local residents and for persistence,
I took a fully-funded $50M plan to upgrade WEC to last election.
Libs had a $2B plan for Sydney stadiums, $0 for WEC.
Last year Berejiklian Govt completed a masterplan for WEC site but kept it secret- why?
