I’m all in for the walk down memory lane when @JoshFryday first walked into my office at the Assembly Higher Education Committee as a college student pushing the state’s historic housing bond back in…. 2002? Congrats to him and his team for a cool launch video!
Fresh off his latest documentary with Ken Burns about the American Revolution, the legendary Peter Coyote narrates a different kind of revolution happening in California. There's a new promise in California — one built on affordability, opportunity, community and service.

Since everyone is asking: No, this doesn't undo #Prop50. The trigger language was removed in the legislative process as it was clear that TX was redistricting. So, even if their map is invalidated/postponed, the Prop 50 maps stay in place.
🚨WOW. A federal judge in Texas has struck down the Texas congressional map. Court says election needs to be on 2021 maps. https://t.co/mkmSfmvJ5t

An important window into the challenges of these mid-decade redistricting pushes and the importance of community voices, even in a fast process. 🎁 gift link below. https://t.co/07ViSacWSd

Other states looking to redistrict should emulate how California’s Prop 50 organizers considered views of Black political leaders, whose power is threatened by redistricting, Joe Garofoli writes.

In case you're wondering what six districts @KevinKileyCA is talking about, the list and census population counts are below. In square miles, the majority of overlap is probably with CA 5 (McClintock) but it is really only 4% of his total residents. And he's for sure not running
I want to thank everyone who has reached out about my plans for next year in the wake of Prop. 50. While I will be running for reelection to the House, it's going to take time to figure out in which of the newly drawn districts. My current district has been chopped into six

@paulmitche11 @NewsHour CA: For those who want to understand CA's redistricting Prop 50 , meet Paul (the man who drew the maps), find out why farmers are voting no and why some who hate gerrymandering are voting yes - this story is for you.

Something very cool and inspiring about standing in line to vote with dozens of other folks who care about the future of our country and want their voices heard. #Prop50

Classic data infographic fail. 1) vertical axis scaling shows a range of 20% down to 17% - 3% change but it looks like it is headed to zero. 2) CA going from 20% of national to 17% could be a good thing, w/ more tech jobs throughout the country. 3) tech jobs in CA are up
The downfall of tech jobs in California will be studied for years to come. The % of US tech jobs located in California is now below 2008 levels.
