All the below plus incredibly high food inflation cutting the red tape is really a red herring for the government to body swerve the changes and retain the tax income
@UKHospKate @nookandwillow @AjpOxford @UKHofficial Everyone understands the pressures facing hospitality, and pubs in particular. This isn’t the cure to those problems, but it is a welcome step towards pulling down some of the barriers that have held the sector back. Nobody is pretending it is a silver bullet. The deeper issues

Agree Gary @UKHospKate it may be a change that’s required however don’t be deceived it’s really a government red herring to say they are promoting growth and therefore avoid the necessary VAT NI and business rates changes, it’s an empty gift
Hello, Gary Usher here… The government have proposed an idea to “help” the hospitality industry by allowing longer opening hours. I feel it’s my duty to explain like others have, how insulting this is. There’s not a single operator I know that wants to open longer. The

Hospitality needs help the figures don’t surprise, the greatest reduction in jobs since the the last budget has been in our sector and it continues to rise, lower VAT, lower business rates, and a reversal of the NI will help growth, at the moment hospitality is contracting
42% of Brits say their local high street is in decline and and that rises to 55% in suburban areas. And 74% believe hospitality deserves more Gov't support. (@ZonalUK) Hospitality is being #TaxedOut of communities across the UK - find out more here👇 https://t.co/p861i3WDgu

This afternoon our CEO, @allen_m_simpson, gave evidence to the @CommonsBTC on the importance of hospitality to the high street and the need for a strategy to ensure we are supported. "Half of the jobs lost since the Budget have been purely in hospitality." Watch 📺👇

Today’s increase in job losses does nothing to discredit this estimation the hospitality is being taxed out @RachelReevesMP NI, wage increases was a disaster we have corrosive business rates and the highest VAT in Europe, food inflation running at 30% over 5 yrs, change required
Hospitality industry on track to lose 111,000 jobs by next Budget ➡️ https://t.co/IeFwxw7WyL

Government please read the trail of comments the hospitality industry is suffering due to the wage and NI increases, the industry is also now giving less opportunities to young people which is a drain on life experiences… or what some people might phrase working people
Successive Governments have both ignored and let Hospitality down. Its the UKs 5th biggest sector and the UKs 3rd biggest employer. Every day our local papers are reporting on the loss of our pubs, restaurants, bars, live music venues etc. Enough is enough, drastic action

It’s really quite easy, incentivise small businesses with less tax and they will grow, invest and employ people creating wealth do the opposite and the opposite will happen Its taken government less than twelve months to create this lack of confidence
