This episode came out of nowhere and etched itself directly into my 16 year old brain. I had to sit with myself for a minute after it was done as my little teenage mind tried to wrap itself around what I just saw.

The Great Lakes mega-region of 60 million people has a population density similar to France. This is a ideal region to build a robust rail network, with hourly trains between cities.

You will have to prove you're 17 to use WoW, and you'll prove it by giving up your government-issued ID card, which means anything you do or say in WoW can be legally tied to you. And also any corporation, like, say, your employer, can download your chat logs for a modest fee.

@TsaiMeLemoni It will be irritating but mass surveillance? It means WoW will have to move their "we don't allow under 13" to 17 or actually do what they should have done for 13 year olds. What else does It require?

Republicans are using kids as a smokescreen for what Big Tech lobbyists want: a national surveillance program to harvest our data with zero protections for people and their privacy. We must fight this dangerous expansion of surveillance technology.

Men’s outfits. The main element of the wardrobe is a loincloth, complemented by a cloak (tilmatli). These are worn by all social classes, but aristocrats, as usual, stand out with the richness of their ornaments and colors, unlike the modest peasants.

Chat, all hell has broken loose in the Linux community. Linux nerds are discussing how they'd implement age verification at the OS level (if need be to comply with laws). Linux nerds are having a psychiatric meltdown. The nerds are revolting.

#AgeVerification is literally a gatekeeping solution. If it is to be effective at all, it must be deployed in situations where gatekeeping makes sense — and general purpose operating systems are not those places.

This bill, like KOSA, GUARD, SCREEN, and many similar bills, is a Trojan horse attack on your personal privacy and ability to criticize your government. It needs to be defeated immediately. Find your reps in Congress: https://t.co/wTGSuZy0IO Tell them to oppose it.

Every parent wants to make sure their children are safe online, and the KIDS Act empowers them to do so. The KIDS Act requires easily accessible parental controls, allowing them—not Big Tech— to decide what apps and content their kids can access.

The agency charged with enforcing the law that restricts children's data collection just carved out an exception large enough to swallow the law itself.
