.@davidsacks47 @BoHines you may not realize this, but your entire crypto agenda turns on this case. you missed your opportunity to get the doj to drop these charges and now our industry is back in legal limbo in the CRIMINAL context. please don't sully the great work done so far.
This is a terrible outcome for Roman and for all of crypto. If the Trump administration wants the USA to be the crypto capital of the world, then DOJ must not be allowed to retry the two deadlocked charges. This is existential. If you've been sleeping on Section 1960, wake up.

this sucks. but, potential silver lining: unlicensed money transmitter is probably the strongest count to appeal. the control/custody requirement is clear as day to everyone except the prosecutors and daniel craige (or w/e his name is) . free @rstormsf.
Final: US v. Roman Storm verdicts: Conviction on onspiracy to run an unlicensed money transmittal business. No unanimity on conspiracy to commit money laundering nor on conspiracy to violate North Korea sanctions. Book 1: Book 2 coming. .

why does it have to be high profile?. @rstormsf predicting that people might get robbed if the public can see their money is very simple second order thinking… and the fact that many have since occurred unequivocally shows that he was right?. how is this even being debated?.
Judge Failla: So you'd have to show me that Mr. Storm was aware of a high profile case - and they would have to predate or be concurrent with the acts in the indictment. I did a Google search for crypto kidnapping - I only found 2025, so, irrelevant.
