After a wet start, not a bad end of the day; the sun is setting and the temperature is dropping, and a good walk over the fields with the dog.

Unbearable news tonight as HSE report that a child has been killed on farm when a telehandler collided with a gate which then struck the child. Our thoughts and love are with the family at this very sad time. Our 23rd fatality since 1 April. Stay safe @TheNAAC

Weโre heading for a record year of farm fatalities including, as always, children. We can recycle all the excuses why these figures are inevitable & accept this tragedy as the cost of doing business, or we can change our mindset & do something about this.
The industry is becoming increasingly used to fatalities on-farm, which is why farmers are being urged to better protect themselves and stop taking unnecessary risks. ๐ The HSE reported a total of 124 workplace fatalities in the 2024/25 period which runs from April to March.

Good to hear @NFUtweets President @ProagriLtd at today's well attended @NFUWorcs AGM outlining some of the issues and what is being done, plus responding to some interesting questions & thoughts from the floor. Unfortunately I had to leave before @emmahamer2's report

The UK Budget today has an unprecedented effect over Gibraltar It means Remote Gaming Duty from 21% to 40% and a new Remote Betting Duty of 25% to replace the existing General Betting Duty at 15% This is a severe overreach and will have an a disproportionate impact on Gibraltar

Great to visit Mount Pleasant School Farm near Bromsgrove alongside @BradleyThomasUK meeting local farming families. Our message to the Chancellor is clear: Change course on the family farm tax and family business tax or risk destroying generations of British farming.
