Paleoradiography of a Roman skull. Teamed up with Lisa Duffy from @CCCUarchaeology to image this late Roman (4th century AD) adult female. Looks like a metal projectile embedded in bone? Check out video: https://t.co/b9GI9nVyuM And website blog post: https://t.co/XngF5BlRbn

Would you believe it!โค We have just found an incredibly well preserved arrow with a shell arrowhead. It looks like it was lost last year, but the arrow is around 3300 years old, from the Early Bronze Age!๐Ÿ˜ฎ It doesn't get much better than this๐Ÿ˜

Robert Janaway - University of Bradford @robjanaway Licensed exhumations. Did you know that modern coffins are typically chipboard with a veneer finish? They tend to collapse from the weight of soil, whereas older (Victorian) coffins have 'stood' the test of time.

The thresholds of evidence within forensic archaeology needs to be higher than 'traditional' archaeology. Your report may have an impact upon someone's freedom!

The role of forensic archaeologists in the UK Alistair Vannan - Cellmark Forensic Services @cellmarkdna A super overview of forensic archaeology. For instance, it is not about the recovery of remains, but instead about recording the activities associated with clandestine graves
