After losing her mother as a newborn, Iniko was the first Patas monkey to be hand-reared in human care. Now an adult, Iniko is thriving on exhibit. However, she still seems to enjoy some of the “softer” things in life. ❤️ Happy #InternationalPrimateDay!

The horror of this & other online primate abuse feels overwhelming. But I’m grateful to the incredible and truly hard work done here to shine a light on it. While everyone is paying attention there are things primate researchers can do…
CW: extreme animal abuse. This is one of the worst things I've ever read. I think the primatological community needs to respond, if only to keep pressure on authorities to stop this, & to bring the perpetrators to justice. @IPS_PrimateNews @ASPvoice
