Want to understand the math behind ZKPs but always struggled? This article explains it in a way a smart HS student or a rusty STEM graduate can understand. Includes a toy implementation in <100 LOC. No polynomials or elliptic curves necessary. (Link in reply)

Unfortunately not an isolated incident. Big problem in Sweden, with teenagers being recruited by gangs via Snapchat etc to do things like this, and worse. Sweden looks very different today vs when I grew up there 2-3 decades ago.
The face of death and terror in Sweden, the 17 year old in the front is carrying hand grenades in her clutch. She and her friend were hired by a 14 year old girl to throw three hand grenades at different apartment blocks in Sweden.

Privacy is normal
This was a nice Christmas gift: SEC chair talks about the importance of financial privacy, and how people who use privacy tools should not be treated with suspicion. He advocates that people shield their transactions from bulk surveillance in order to protect civil liberties.

This bodes ill. Readers used to outnumber non-readers 2 to 1. Now non-readers outnumber readers 3 to 1. It's hard to imagine a change of that magnitude not having significant effects.

this looks like the ideal workflow for a large org using AI. 30% speedup, which is very significant.. but also a ceiling as all code gen has already been automated. Turns out 70% of software dev is non coding stuff: design, stakeholder buy-in, verification etc.
FAANG software engineer tells how they vibe code at FAANG --- "You still always start with a technical design document. This is where a bulk of the work happens. The design doc starts off as a proposal doc. If you can get enough stakeholders to agree that your proposal has

Holy shit. An unarmed civilian rushed one of the gunmen from behind, tackled him, took his gun and pointed it at him, while the second gunman was shooting at him. That fat, balding, middle-aged guy is an ABSOLUTE FUCKING HERO. His extraordinary bravery saved lives today.

We’ve been building in the shadows for 4.5 years. Today, we’re pulling back more of the curtain. We just dropped a 10-minute film showing what Cuby really looks like in operation (from 3 months ago). Watch the film and then tell me if you still think the future has to suck.

Once I saw this guy on a bridge about to jump. I said, "Don't do it!" He said, "Nobody's zk-proofs are compatible with mine." I said, "But zk-proofs are just math. Are you using sound math?" He said, "Yes." I said, "Are you using a SNARK or a STARK". He said, "A SNARK." I

This is huge for institutional adoption Very different from a few years ago...

ALWAYS BET ON TEXT Graydon Hoare (creator of Rust) wrote a blog post more than a decade ago: > text is the most powerful, useful, effective communication technology ever, period. ( https://t.co/mw8WaYThHb) This is even more relevant now in the age of LLMs. Text is Lindy.
