Ten years ago today that The Martian hit shelves. I owe everything that happened since then to my readers. I can't thank you enough. So, for the hell of it, I wrote some additional content for The Martian. The Martian: Lost Sols https://t.co/jj86gMfxly

What's that? A cargo feature was missed and the compiler still knows about it? Truly an all-knowing compiler.

The constant you have called is unavailable, please try again. Me musing on what to do about post monomorphization errors and brainstorming the worst ideas.

It's true. I wrote just a tiny bit of async code, and now all my tasks are getting woke.

Elon fans, DO NOT adopt rust. rustc is doing 1000s of poorly batched queries just to compile your program and the radical left will never let you change their code

@sampullara Part of today will be turning off the “microservices” bloatware. Less than 20% are actually needed for Twitter to work!

In the last 2.5 months I ran rustc on around 600.000 files with around 50 different RUSTFLAGS each, so around 30 million rustc executions. :D All ICEs found have been reported and I'd love to repeat the same with debug assertions enabled but it would probably take a year... 😆

The most important tip I can give you when considering to switch for a @rustlang job: 1. You know enough Rust. Don't compare to the hotshots. 2. They exist, but many don't show up in public job listings. Reach out to a recruiter like @naoisemulligan. https://t.co/6pUsRypMZj

The German Government has set up its own #Mastodon server so all its official accounts are easy to find. Validation going the same way as email: if you're on the official domain, you work for us. (HT @anthonyzach) https://t.co/DH7ZuVqPp6

It is the year 2024 verified accounts are back the $8 feature still exists, you even get a blue check mark, but you *must* be trolling Elon Musk with it Elon Musk can pay $8k to ban such accounts for a day and remove their blue check. Twitter is now profitable
