1. I was happy to get a job in Namibia in 2020. It's close to Zimbabwe. However, I lasted only 10 months before relocating to UK.
Namibia is friendly and peaceful. Windhoek city is clean & quiet. It has modern malls. Wide and modern roads etc.

1. The Zim challenges didn't start recently. Around 1997, I was in form 1 and Zim had inflation, fuel shortages, food shortages , industrial action, retrenchment & queues. As students then we thought these challenges would soon end.

1. Don't buy an iPhone or S22 for USD800 + buy goats or cows. These multiply and give you a return in the future.
2. Don't buy GD6 or other expensive cars. Buy a house even in ghetto/ small town to earn rental income.

4. Spouses on dependent visa are not permitted to work unless they can secure their own work permit. If your profession is not on critical skills list & you are inexperienced, you can not secure a permit. This means you cannot work. Living in Namibia becomes very difficult.

Thanks. I know someone who couldn't get a job in Zim for 12 years with a degree and masters. On arriving in UK on a dependent visa , the person got 2 jobs in 2 weeks and had several interviews lined up. If it was an act if witchcraft it must have precluded the person here too.

The truth is life is better in Diaspora than life in Zimbabwe. I used to sell my assets like cars to sustain life in Zimbabwe. Saving money was a challenge. All what is mentioned here is correct. People are saving in diaspora , I can testify too.
So here’s a few life changes since I moved to Europe/Dublin.
1. It’s almost 3 years and not a single day did we have a power cut
2. Nice maintained roads

Namibian police is professional. I visited their offices to have my papers certified. The police would work very hard to serve the queuing public for free. In other jurisdictions, one would pay an illegal fee for the service. At road blocks, they remain ethical & professional
JUST IN: A 33-year-old long distance taxi driver was arrested yesterday outside Swakopmund for attempting to bribe a traffic officer with N$100 to avoid a fine of N$1000 for overtaking at a no-crossing marking & N$2000 for overloading. He will appear in the local court on Monday.
