Zurich: I lived there for 3.5 years. It’s a serious city in a serious country. Here’s the most honest breakdown of who Zurich works for and who it really doesn’t. The PROS of Zurich: - Exemplary "functioning country": Nothing is late, broken, or canceled. Ever. You get used

People say, “You hate AI art because you’re afraid of everyone being equally talented.” No, I hate it because you are being robbed of real creativity. I want you to know the satisfaction of putting real effort into something. I want you to be amazed what you can do when you try.

Exactly on point. Capitalism is by far the best system we have but it’s not without flaws and human nature doesn’t exactly help either in terms of bad incentives and corruption.
it's very hard not to argue we are in late-stage capitalism. most obvious signs: - "enshittification" of most things while corporate profits keep hitting record levels - corporations emboldened to raise prices beyond cost increases in unison - conspicuous corporate capture of

The people who made the AI McDonald's ad want you to know they put more man hours into it than a traditional production. Like Coca Cola, in their attempt to prove they worked hard, they've instead shown AI is hard to control, still expensive, and uglier. What's the point again?
What’s even funnier is that the production company said they spent more time and effort on this AI ad than on traditional production. So, what's the real benefit of AI here? Definitely not the idea. Did they charge the client more? If not, did they work harder for the same cost?

What Apple is doing here is performative design: Acting as if you did design by making the environment look that way. You only do this if you want to impress your know-nothing middle manager boss. These people have lost touch with reality so completely that I find it hard to

Amusing that the main pitch for ChatGPT is telling everyone they are dumb idiots who can't possibly handle tasks on their own that humans have accomplished on their own since the dawn of time.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?" Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

Good job friends! Keep up the backlash against Generative AI. It works 🫖
UPD: Following immense backlash, McDonald’s grotesque AI-generated Christmas ad was deleted. And thus, thousands of pure, innocent eyes were spared: https://t.co/XQHnVLoG5T

The bizarro rage-filled reactions to this basic undeniable fact -- that AI can only remix information that's input into a computer -- has been an incredibly window into how AI leads people into psychosis. Absolutely unhinged fanboys and pick-me fangirls who think a computer chip
as a reminder: AI cannot generate knowledge. It cannot create knowledge. It cannot find new information. It can only mix information that has already been found and written and input into computers by humans.

CEO of Nvidia, $NVDA: “In the future… maybe two or three years, 90% of the world’s knowledge will likely be generated by AI.”

Apple’s miserable attempt at AI can’t even transcribe text properly, give me a break.
People will be shocked when Apple hits their stride with this. There’s a layer behind every app that can be exposed to intelligence. And Apple is making that layer adapt to any space beyond the app interface.

People say, “AI enables those of us who hate writing to become novelists!” If you hate writing or making music, no one is forcing you to become a writer or musician. Go find another career. All you’re doing is destroying the creative arts and degrading what it means to be human.
@butterbooter you are projecting your thinking process onto others. some us can think without writing, i think even better not expressing words into physical space. ai is a useful tool for people like me who loathe the writing process of expression my ideas

Pity future historians. This insidious crap is close enough to reality to be mistaken for real information. Serves no purpose whatsoever except to farm engagement and create the illusion of learning. Pure digital sludge rapidly swamping the information landscape.

The analogy would be more correct if the person could go to the library and look up the answer. Because the LLM would have access to all those books and still manage to fail miserably most of the time.
LLMs have no reasoning, no real intelligence yeah, okay go ask a random person on the street a few real questions nine times out of ten, the latest LLMs will understand you better and give a clearer answer. so when most talk about "AGI", they mean something way beyond human

You are deliberately conflating specialised machine learning applications with generative AI.
I’m honestly shocked right now. If this ruling stands, it could set a precedent that doesn’t just hit OpenAI, but the entire AI ecosystem. We’re talking about the very tools that could cure cancer, slow aging, fight climate change and accelerate scientific progress by decades…
