the being you think of as 'me'. still breathing, still existent, the world is amazingly interesting!~
INFINITE POSSIBILITIES // she/they // :3 enthusiast
Watch out for the most 'why would you even think of doing this' crossover gameplay video combining WoA with a modification for a formerly-popular FPS series, running live in XTA + Adreno drivers.
A little clip of the 6T I wanted to upload the other day. Don't mind the rotation, video editing capabilities on phones are horrible and I don't have any encoding tools on PC at hand.
just pointing this out:
I've really not been doing well these past months.
the folks at
@RockstarGames
(& TTWO legal) have somehow managed to ruin my life not only once, but twice.
ever since August of 2023, my life has been a hell of weird unilateral blame and threats.
with the fivem announcement by the way i would like to say that yeah i have been involved, am involved and still will be involved for the foreseeable time to come
exciting!
@videotechuk_
fyi: the trailer is cgi and pre-rendered
the trailer isn't running in real time, it's a recording
the game is computer generated imagery
that doesn't change the fact that it's still representing close-to-real-time in-engine content lol
I just received my ThinkPad X13s!
... except I expected an OOBE, not this leftover test install.
(bought from the Lenovo site. nice QA!)
Now, if only I could download a new Windows 11 ARM64 image to reinstall (lol, as if) :')
Can game launcher publishers *stop* using Chromium for all their UI?
Xbox app, minimized: 400 MB commit, 300 MB VRAM
Steam CEF library UI: 700 MB commit, 500 MB VRAM
.. and that's just the GPU process. It's not trimmed when minimized-to-tray, either.
Why does Microsoft have such a liking for making UI toolkits nobody but they can use?
Let's list a few:
- DirectUI (2001-): originally for the XP login screen, eventually used for a lot of Windows UI (8 start screen, Explorer since Vista), MSN Messenger, IE. Undocumented since.
another kinda insane thing 2020 me did was this (4074 explorer on then-current win10)
pic is kinda cut up to fit in a thumbnail, original pic linked in reply
I’m in Australia 🇦🇺, but as far as my iPhone knows, I’m in Italy 🇮🇹. How?
A bunch of people asked, so here’s how I tricked iOS into giving me EU features:
In iOS 17.4, Apple introduced a new system called eligibilityd. This works with countryd (which you might have heard about
third exhibit: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War (2020)
NOTE THAT IT'S A MODERN TASK DIALOG, NOT A MESSAGE BOX
IT DOESN'T HAVE THE 'RECOMMENDED FOR MOST PEOPLE' PHRASING
IT ACTUALLY REGRESSES EVERY SECOND GAME.
thanks, 'competing internal engine tech'
second exhibit: Call of Duty 2022 (MWII/WZ2.0)
note how different it looks.
(only change: it got a common controls manifest, yeah)
note how it will still change your system settings but not your controls and how it is recommended for most people
WIP 21354 already has support for Windows Terminal (Dev) as default console, it's just broken due to it using RegOpenKey and not RegCreateKey: make a key "HKCU\Console\%%Startup" (or one for a specific EXE) and configure it in the console property sheet.
Microsoft *is* planning to have the Windows 11 taskbar drag issues solved. Undocked taskbar already supports this, WindowsUdk however restricts it behind some features not being 'supported'.
I've updated the guide for installing 10X on real hardware for the recent 20279 image:
There might be some incorrect points, but generally the same steps should still apply.
seeing the branding i thought of years ago show up in transcripts of investor calls of multi-billion dollar companies on big finance websites is still... something

@LovingRequiem
it's kde connect showing notifications from the pixel which has had this as a feature.. for a while (containing a lot of more obscure things too!)
