Brilliant piece of detective work by @arusbridger showing how Robbie Gibb has been playing @BBC and is the last person on earth to be judging the impartiality of the Bibi C's coverage of the Middle East & Gaza
An inside job? Robbie Gibb’s campaign to rewire the BBC 🔗 @arusbridger

🧵(1) Recently, our team published a major study on prevalence, inequalities and outcomes of internal exclusion (IE, aka removal, seclusion, isolation), reigniting a longstanding debate about its use in schools. The (open access) paper is here:

Welcome to the murky world of UK Lawyers for Israel (UKLFI). @novaramedia shines the spotlight on how this shadowy organisation hounds decent people standing up for human rights. Well worth a read. https://t.co/MR5WZfFjkM

It’s had children’s artwork removed from hospitals, doctors banned from wearing watermelon pins and claimed craft pens evoked 7 October. Are UK Lawyers for Israel really the cartoon villains they...

I can’t believe social media did this.
Senator @JohnFetterman blames social media for collapsing support for Israel among young Democrats: “Social media was an accelerant for antisemitism…that’s why we've lost the younger vote.” @BariWeiss: “Is there a way to change those minds?” Fetterman: “Right now, no.”

An analysis of BBC news coverage over the last 4 years shows a shameless bias against Vladimir Putin, with BBC reporters insisting on calling the Special Military Operation in Ukraine “an invasion”

The fact that this editorial blunder over Trump’s speech is the final straw - rather than, say, refusal to air the Gaza medics documentary - is entirely absurd. The BBC so often caves to the right wing press. Criticisms only gain purchase if they appear in the Telegraph.

There has been a lot of talk about BBC bias today. Its a good moment to remember the BBC Gaza Report @cfmmuk by the Centre for Media Monitoring, just to remind ourselves of the scandalous bias against Palestine @BBCNews in the face of the Gaza Genocide

The white poppy campaign started in 1926. Hitler was a little known fanatic released from prison the year before. Genuinely bizarre what some people will write about you if you criticise Israel.
The white poppy is an alternative to red, originated by a group of people who thought Hitler was doing a good job. It’s not compatible with it. You haven’t learned about it.

"I don't have a bias." I spoke with Nana Akua on @GBNews, where I gently tried to challenge the irony of GB News criticising the BBC for bias. I looked for some common ground around the need for truth in journalism. Nana explained to me that she doesn’t have any bias… which I

The assumption that 'Everybody should have the kind of education I had' is a key reason why education is failing so many young people.

The BBC has always had a pro-Conservative bias, and the fact that some people are throwing their toys out of the pram because it's less Conservative than it used to be tells you all you need to know about their sense of entitlement.
Nearly 20 years ago I used to do newspaper reviews on BBC, late at night. In 2008 as I was leaving a man from news I didn’t recognise got into the same lift. He said “you’re on as the Tory newspaper reviewer aren’t you?” I said yes. He lowered his voice and said “don’t tell

Lots of thought-provoking stats in this release from the Institute for Government, not least: "In 2023–24, there were an average of five suspensions in every secondary school class, more than double the highest rate seen pre-pandemic."

The government’s spending plans mean it will struggle to narrow gaps in educational outcomes by the end of this parliament.
