this! when we say defund, we literally mean please for the love of god instead of weird surveillance robots in subways & more cops on phones — please reinvest this back in things that actually keep us safe like bioswales, green infrastructure, and climate-resilient upgrades.
For the price of letting 10 cops continuously violate NYers rights, we could have installed 2,615 Bioswales. 2,615 of them would be able to collect over 196 MILLION gallons of water & keep it from flooding our streets, subways, and homes. Letting NYC flood is a policy choice.
