Trillion dollar questions here: If we remove plantations and public gardens from India's forest cover calculations, how large are India's natural forests? If we don't count forest fragments either, what %age of India is covered with functional forests? Ans: Less than 10%. Read.
Just change definitions to manage problems👇 While India has continues to lose forests, its definition of forests has become so expansive that it counts plantations and tea gardens as forests and begun including smaller and smaller forest fragments in its forest cover estimates.
