Good reminder to all athletes that progress isn’t always uphill. You’re going to have good days and bad days, but can you respond the same, and come back for more, whether you’re at the peak or in the valleys.

Training has been awful as of late. Elbow hurts, haven’t thrown above 90 since my mocap. Good reminder to myself of how hard training actually is on the body and mind. Progress is never linear. Just have to keep showing up and getting it done. Time to reset and attack these

After almost two full months at @DrivelineBB, one thing has become clear:. The ability to consistently pull the ball hard in the air separates good hitters from great ones. 📊. When hitters regress, this number usually takes a hit. When they take a leap, even small gains in

In summary, introducing quick, high intensity bouts of sprinting and plyometrics into workouts develops the same systems that athletes use during their own sport (pitching, hitting, golf, etc). Creating a higher potential to develop some dawgs📈.

Sprinting also enhances various factors, such as overall athleticism, core strength and stability, neuromuscular coordination, the development of type IIa and IIx/b muscle fibers, and the growth of lean body mass.

Sprinting puts massive amounts of force on the body (much more than lifting any barbell or dumbbell could) and trains the central nervous system to not only handle high speeds, but also develop them.

Even if you don’t necessarily sprint for your sport (pitching in baseball) there are still huge benefits due to the similarity of energy systems used in both.

The oxidative system is primarily used for low-intensity, but longer in duration exercise like marathon running. This system does use oxygen and is typically not used during anaerobic or alactic sports.
