2 studies below…but… Some qualities influence performance in an indirect way because they act as enablers rather than primary drivers. A variable can matter a great deal even if it does not show a clean linear relationship with the final outcome. Here is why that happens.

Posts like these are a perfect example of a hasty generalization. A single case of a gifted pitcher who never benched gets turned into a global claim about what baseball players should never do. Bench press is a tool. It can help many athletes develop qualities that transfer

What we know from the last several years of research is that training in lengthened positions transfers those adaptations to the shortened position. But it doesn’t transfer well all the other way around. Train accordingly.

Embarrassing programming for a rehab throwing program for a high level pitcher. Just embarrassing. Long toss capped at 120’ (paging @jaegersports), timed throwing, 55 pitch (55!) bullpens. Why are we allowing this as an industry just because it’s the way it’s been done?

Objectivity is the name of the game. In the RTT we objectified the intensity with velocity ranges. But there were hiccups along the way. Using tools like @FlexProGrip we were able to objectify deficiencies causing trouble at higher velos leading up to the return to competition.
.@JoshWillitts went from career-ending injuries to breaking velocity records. The turning point? Learning there’s a better way to return to throw. Discover Josh’s method ⬇️

“The Standard Is The Standard.” One of our UCL-repair athletes walked in sporting that line on a high-school tee, perfectly capturing our rehab mission: get back to throwing not merely pain-free, but stronger, more powerful, and more durable than the day the ligament tore.
