And influence ATPases and function. Yikes. Wonder what ATPases are also affected in neurons?.

Very important paper demonstrating how much fluorescent dyes buffer intracellular calcium, while genetically encoded sensors like R-GECO do not.

1/ We’ve done a thing. I think it's the most important paper I've contributed to date, or may ever do. This🧵is a bit longer for the non-experts, it gets good at the end. It is about how we measure calcium (Ca2+) in ❤️ cells. Open access ⬇️.

I posted a new video on: "Notes on the limits of electric field sensitivity" Is there a *minimum* stimulation intensity (electric field) that is "effective"? Or no minimum? A better research question is developing EXPLANATIONS (mechanisms) for stimulation.

Enjoying the fall view from Ecole Polytechnique Montreal, where I've taken mobility from my French professorship to join as Adj. Prof in Biomedical Engineering with the ChemEng dept. Much to learn surrounded by real polymer experts. Bring on the snow!

Hey Gerwin @dijk_gerwin the metal is causing issues in our 2P imaging of the brain, can we make these probes transparent? Here's his clever fab idea that came out of that ask. @MINES_StEtienne @CampusCharpak @neurotechcenter
