Sen Ted Cruz’s official call for Somaliland’s recognition is a major breakthrough in the Senate. He is Chair of SFRC for Africa. And his position aligns with Sen Risch ( R-ID) chairman of SFRC. Priority #2 is rolling .
Ramaphosa’s visit today checks off the second box of the Trump priorities in Africa. So far, no movement on the Somaliland issue from Foggy Bottom.

Here we go again, Egypt throwing another snitfit over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD). It seems willing to engage with every country about it - except the one that matters: Ethiopia. It's a new world; Egypt needs to adjust.
