Cookbooks are still vastly better than the internet for food recipes, and the gap is growing as the internet makes discovery and usefulness of online recipes worse over time. I believe this is Google’s fault.

California: need more homes > local zoning and NIMBY prevent density > homes built far from density in forest > anemic fire prevention + drought > fires burn homes in forest > need more homes; repeat. State gvmt could intervene at any point in this cycle.
