How about this for a Friday feel good?. Iulia migrated from Romania aged 11 with her mum (who came to work in the NHS), learned English and went onto complete her Masters in Podiatry. We just appointed her to start her training to become a Podiatric Surgeon!. What a journey!

I’m privileged to work as a NHS Surgeon. I was born, trained and paid for my own degree in 🇬🇧 . A typical week is 50 hours but on call is >100hrs. I’ve done this for 20 years. The toll is high. #juniorDoctorStrike is sad but the real-terms pay cut (26% since 2008) is unfair.

After my night shift, driving back from hospital, witnessed an out of hospital cardiac arrest!. I parked up and began CPR. It’s surprising how quickly it all comes back!. 🚑 arrived impressively fast. (Ps, didn’t do rescue breaths as I had no mask-but airway was clear)
