Disappointing response from the minister to my question about how funding for reorganising councils & forming mayoral regions will be handled I will keep making the case that a govt dictated scheme should be fully funded by them or communities could see services cut to pay for it

The idea that there needs to be a minimum pop of 500,000 to make new unitaries work is bonkers in comparative terms. These mega-councils will be: ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ 3x larger than the av. English council now, ๐ฉ๐ช60x larger than the av. German council ๐ซ๐ท*250x* larger than the av. French council!
