"A spectre is haunting contemporary literary writing, the spectre of necromodernism… a type of modernism in its posthumous state, a necromodernist condition in which writing persists in the ruins of literature’s once-modern ambitions. Necromodernism neither celebrates the new

Imagine if the New York Review of Books was 15 years off celebrating its centenary and the board shut it down, citing financial concerns, but made no disclosure, no attempt to raise funds, no public campaign to turn matters around. The MUP Board have done just this with Meanjin.

Vice-chancellors will face the Senate inquiry into university governance on Monday. They have very serious questions to answer about shocking governance failures on their watch. So far we've seen no meaningful action from VCs to fix governance. Reform is urgent.

Since our very first issue Meanjin and Overland have been comrades, mates, rivals, and drinking buddies. The UMP board’s decision is a shockingly myopic act of cultural vandalism which will grievously harm the Australian literary community.

with Mark Leibler on the board, and the recent actions from 5A, and the ongoing war against, and hamstringing of, Overland, it is so obvious that what is being done to Meanjin is being the done at the behest of the same old Zionist lobbyits. The email leaks are imminent.

Hearing about Meanjin I'd just like to add that it was very important for readers from abroad who were looking for new voices in Aus lit to pursue especially. I'm so, so sorry that the travesty of austerity is coming for such a important magazine.
I'm going to say the quiet part out loud: James Cook University's Roderick Centre would be a really great home for Meanjin, particularly since Clem Christesen was born in Townsville. You know I'm right!

why did they start making kitchen appliances out of stainless steel. every time i see a stainless-steel kitchen on TV or in a picture it looks so depressing and also like it's one aesthetic crime away from docking at the International Space Station
