No one deserves to suffer horribly for this. But someone deserves to, eg, find out that the gelato shop is out of their favourite flavour.

Someone in my building removed my laundry from the dryer when it was done, even though there were empty dryers available. I want to put an extremely small curse on this person.

Chopping *block*, obvs. But yeah, if the incompetent nephew of some cabinet minister ends up losing the $200,000/year email job that his uncle created just for him, he will wonder why there was money for colour energies but not this. AND HE WILL BE RIGHT TO WONDER.

This isn't quite true, because the feds *have* committed to making significant cuts to the federal public service. Which means that every federal public servant whose job ends up on the chopping will be thinking, quite reasonably, "they got rid of me but had money for this shit?".

The book that I recommend to everyone is ENLIGHTENMENT 2.0 by Joseph Heath, which explains why this is true and how we can we can address it. Basically, humans have the capacity to be rational, but it doesn't come naturally to us.

Update: they don't suck. I definitely got my small-amount-for-glasses money's worth. But if I had to do this again, I would not order my first pair of progressive lenses online, because I can't tell if the lens quality is similar to what I'd get from a brick-and-mortar optician.

I guess everyone has to say that they had a fun time walking 1.5 blocks and that it was just a bit sad that they spent an hour waiting in place before being disbanded. If anyone said "fuck these assholes for ruining our parade", they'd be cancelled

This is the blameless expression of sadness that Ottawa city councilors have settled on over at Bluesky. Can't criticize either the cause or the proponents who shut down an event that you see as important. Whatcha gonna do, am I right? I hope they spray-paint his office next
