I finally got the most recent covid booster today. I’ve been putting it off because I don’t have insurance. Without insurance, the shot costs $190. 🫠 This is such a crime, it should be free.

I appreciate that this show makes it very clear in episode one that we are breaking international law at Guantanamo and features voices of prisoners. So much other media about Guantanamo is framed around the wrong question, “IDK is this right or wrong?!”

“It’s exhausting because you’re pretending.” This is exactly how I felt reporting at Guantanamo. So messed up.

Through comics, we can shape the narratives told about ourselves and our world—and in that way, we hope to provoke change.

Social media sites have a lot of profit-driven limitations and censorship, so we felt that there really needs to be an independent site dedicated to publishing and preserving comics about what's happening right now.

Since October, I've been working behind-the-scenes on a project with my cartoonist friends Yazan al-Saadi, Tracy Chahwan, and Andy Warner: an online archive of comics responding to the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Abortion, Every Day Exclusive: Idaho has brought forward charges in the state's first 'abortion trafficking' case. Law enforcement used geolocation data to place a teenager at an Oregon abortion clinic.
