If utility and “doing no harm” is the basis for ethics then surrogacy is obviously fine. If symbology and sacredness is the basis for ethics then surrogacy is obviously wrong. You’ll never get the two worlds to chit chat about this, they’ll just talk past each other all day

Trying to quantify motherhood in terms of a 9-5 job is icky. To say being with your kids is “unpaid labor” is no better than the people who call kids “crotch goblins.” They are both derogatory and wrong and it devalues your family.
